Money is here to enjoy it. Otherwise what's the point? But the key to success is balance (shocking, we know!!).
So how do you strike that perfect balance between enjoying your hard earned money while also making sure you set yourself up for financial stability?
Things get especially difficult, when it comes to celebrating your friends. Of course you want to be there! But what if celebrating your friends drags you into debt?
Quite frankly we were a bit surprised to see the results on this one. Only 53% of Frichies said yes, which is a lot lower than we expected.
Here's where we stand on this - why would you want your friend to be there for you if the whole time they're stressed and miserable because they're going into debt to celebrate your bachelorette / birthday / promotion / graduation? If you want to celebrate in a grand way, you have two options - either accept that some people might not be able to join or you can pay for them. Alternatively, plan a celebration that emphasizes the thing that matters the most - spending quality time with your friends.
Here's a pulse check on what Frichies think about traveling for a bachelor / bachelorette party! A slim majority (56%) consider it absolutely worth the hype. Yay!
But what about adding matching outfits on top of that? Are the cute group photos worth the price?
A slim majority (54%) think they're overrated. Maybe next time you can consider having a small matching accessory or a matching color scheme to manage the costs.
Hope this gave you guys a bit of a pulse check on how your friends are feeling. We know you've definitely been in both situations - the person that's celebrating a major life milestone & the person that's freaking out while trying to financially navigate lavish celebrations. All we can say is - remember why you're celebrating in the first place & don't get carried away with all the expensive add-ons! Your real friends won't care if you celebrate your birthday at the local bar or a beach club in Tulum.
