Frich Insights: Money & Relationships Pt 2

We're back with another recap of questions around money & relationships. Why? Because what's more taboo than talking about money? Talking about money in romantic relationships 👀

We believe that you deserve to have more examples than just your parents (and sometimes we don't even get to know that much about how our parents actually handle their finances) to figure out how to manage money in relationships. The goal, of course, is to build lasting relationships that are also financially stable and comforting! Because - guess what - one of the most important decisions you'll make in your personal finances is your life partner.

Let's start light - would you prioritize romance or financial security? And what do you think most other people would do?

Frichies were pretty equally split with slightly more people choosing romance (53%). Cuties!!!

Deciding to fully share your finances by opening a shared bank account is a huge step. Maybe one day we should do a deep dive covering the steps you should take before you take the leap into shared finances?

In the meantime, here's what Frichies answered. Majority of you said that you would share finances after getting married (34%), 25% don't ever want to share a bank account with anyone, 23% would take this step after moving in together and 18% would do it after 2-3 years of dating.

The answers here were also pretty equally split, however they leaned more towards yes (57%). Wonder what's the age and gender breakdown here... 👀
